GRADE 9 "SUMMER BRIDGE" PROGRAM
AUGUST 14-23: The Summer Bridge Program is a seven-day program designed to help incoming ninth graders – new and returning students – make a smooth transition from middle school to high school, both academically and socially. The program includes academic skill-building workshops, team-building exercises, passion projects and evening group trips.
Summer Bridge runs from Sunday, August 14th through Tuesday, August 23rd."Returning" Girard students depart the campus at 6:00 p.m. on the 23rd. "NEW" ninth graders remain on campus Tuesday evening so they can be part of the family orientation the following day. (See below for information about the "New Family Orientation Day" on August 24th.)

NEW STUDENT ORIENTATION SCHEDULE
Wednesday, August 24
NEW FAMILY ORIENTATION DAY - Check in at 8:30 a.m.
NEW students in grades 1-11 AND THEIR FAMILIES spend the day on campus getting to know Girard College.
GRADE 9: Families and (new) students in grade 9 depart campus at 6:00 p.m.
GRADES 1-8 and GRADES 10-11: Families of new students in grades 1-8 and 10-11 depart by 7:00 p.m. Students in grades 1-8 and 10-11 remain on campus for two overnight stays, Wednesday and Thursday nights.
Thursday, August 25
A full day of activities for new students in grades 1-8 and 10-11. Students enjoy second overnight stay.
Friday, August 26
A final day of activities for new students in grades 1-8 and 10-11. Families pick up students at 3:00 p.m.
