The mission of Girard College is to prepare students for advanced education and life as informed, ethical and productive citizens. Girard strives to achieve this through a rigorous education program that promotes intellectual, social and emotional growth that will prepare students to complete a minimum of a bachelor’s degree. Remaining true to the mission, Girard College students are a part of a college-bound culture that begins at the point of enrollment. We challenge students to become independent thinkers and learners as we provide experiential learning opportunities both inside and outside of the classroom.
Over the last 5 years, 95% of all Girard graduates have enrolled in college, with many earning spots in Ivy League and Tier 1 institutions, and received an estimated 5 million dollars in institutional aide alone. At the heart of the College-Bound Culture is the premise that all students can succeed; thus, an extensive college preparatory program is in place to assist students along their pathway to college. Students receive individualized college counseling and coaching beginning in the 9th grade, as they also explore their interests and learn about setting career and educational goals. Because of our educational partnerships with local colleges and universities, Girard students can even enroll in college courses while still in high school.
Our supportive services are designed to maximize student success, and our numbers speak for themselves. A Girard student is a college-ready student!
