André Davis Chosen as Distinguished Service Award Winner

André Davis ’15, audio video specialist at Girard College, is a mentor, leader, and a role model. He is reliable, cool under pressure, and always willing to help. André makes Girard feel like a community, and he exhibits professionalism, patience, empathy, and has a great sense of humor.

André displays pure dedication to the mission of Girard College. He is beloved by students and staff alike, has made an enormous impact on the operations of Girard College, and more importantly, on the lives of students and staff.

André finds a way to get the job done and never complains.

As a Girard alum, André knows exactly what it means to be a student here. He has the ability to connect with students and understand their experience firsthand.

From livestreaming basketball games to setting up audio for major events like Founder’s Day, Cavalier Day, Commencement, and every Chapel program, André ensures that every event on campus runs seamlessly. His tech support spans across every department.

André is the definition of Distinguished Service. Congratulations on a well-deserved honor!

About the Annual Distinguished Service Award:

This award was established in 2000 by the late Dominic Cermele, a former Girard College President and Alumnus, and a former member of the Board of Managers. This award recognizes an individual whose quality of work, attitude and commitment to the goals of Girard College are exemplary.

The recipient will have:

·      A demonstrated dedication to the mission of the school.

·      A high level of professionalism in support of the mission.

·      Made a significant contribution to the College community.

·      A minimum of three years of service.
