PA Tax Credit

Earn Tax Credits with Your Gift

Pennsylvania has created two impactful programs that allow companies and individuals who ordinarily pay state taxes to apply tax credits against their tax liability for contributions made to schools like Girard College.

Funding received through this program is essential to Girard’s ability to meet our students’ educational needs through a wide variety of programs and services. In exchange, participating businesses and individuals are given a tax credit for that year by the state.

Program Overview

The Educational Improvement Tax Credit (EITC) Tax credits equal to 75% of its contribution up to a maximum of $750,000 per taxable year. Can be increased to 90 percent of the contribution, if business agrees to provide the same amount for two consecutive tax years. For contributions to Pre-Kindergarten Scholarship Organizations, a business may receive a tax credit equal to 100% of the first $10,000 contributed and up to 90% of the remaining amount contributed up to a maximum credit of $200,000 annually.

The Opportunity Scholarship Tax Credit (OSTC) Tax credits equal to 75% of its contribution up to a maximum of $750,000 per taxable year; can be increased to 90% of the contribution, if a business agrees to provide the same amount for two consecutive tax years. Total program funding is $50 million.

Girard College is a qualified Scholarship Organization for both the EITC and OSTC programs.

New applications are accepted for these programs each year on July 1. Renewal applications start May 15.
