Stephen Girard Papers FinDing Aid
This finding aid provides a detailed guide to the extensive papers left by Stephen Girard to Girard College. The finding aid is designed to help users identify materials that are of interest to their research and it includes information about the scope, content, and organization of the papers, aids to using the collection, and a file inventory.
The Stephen Girard Papers are available on microfilm at the American Philosophical Society in Philadelphia, which has a larger staff and more extensive reading room hours than Founder’s Hall. To consult the original papers at Girard College, contact Kathy Haas, Director of Historical Resources to arrange a research appointment.
