Stephen Girard Legacy Society

The Stephen Girard Legacy Society is inspired by the benefactors whose estate gifts to Girard College have paved the way for our students’ success.

When you notify the Office of Advancement that Girard College is named as the beneficiary of a gift through your estate, or through a planned gift during your lifetime, you are automatically enrolled. The Stephen Girard Legacy Society has many living members, including those who choose to remain anonymous.

Examples of planned gifts include:

  • A gift of any amount to Girard College through a will provision or revocable “living” trust
  • A 401(k), IRA, SEP, or similar retirement plan beneficiary designation
  • A donor-advised fund
  • A charitable remainder trust
  • A charitable gift annuity
  • A charitable lead trust
  • A life-insurance policy beneficiary designation
  • A real estate gift or gift of unusual assets
